I PLC serie CS permettono il collegamento con le principali reti di comunicazioni Fieldbus aperte (DeviceNet Ethernet, Profibus DP, Lan) oltre che collegamenti di rete proprietari ad alta velocità e dall'ottimo rapporto prezzo/prestazioni. I collegamenti dati tra PLC o con sistemi informatici di livello superiore possono essere effettuati tramite collegamenti seriali o Ethernet, oppure utilizzando la rete di facile utilizzo Controller Link.

Omron offre il supporto per DeviceNet e PROFIBUS-DP, le 2 più diffuse reti di campo. Come I/O di campo ad alta velocità, Omron propone CompoBus/S, un modulo dalla facilità di installazione senza confronto. La comunicazione basata su CAN, completamente configurabile dall'utente, può essere utilizzata per emulare svariati protocolli di applicazioni specifiche.
